Chipotle is already getting into the Halloween spirit. The fast-casual chain announced a costume collection with Spirit Halloween Wednesday, the seasonal Halloween costume store that pops up every year in abandoned storefronts. The collection is made up of bodysuits that are meant to resemble a Chipotle napkin, fork, water cup, burrito and to-go bag. Chipotle is building off a running online joke. Two years ago, it posted a fake “Chipotle Fork” bodysuit with the caption “Found ur costume.” Then last year, another fake “Chipotle Napkin” costume showed up on its Instagram. Chipotle is not the first brand to materialize a…

A former federal judge along with a government watchdog group and two top scholars on judicial ethics want an appeals court to reassign the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump to a new judge. The group is seeking to file an amicus brief with the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals, criticizing the way Judge Aileen Cannon, who dismissed the classified documents prosecution earlier this summer, has handled the criminal case. They also took issue with Cannon allowing Trump to slow down the federal investigation in 2022 by appointing a special master to review evidence and blocking investigators’…

Japan is cool, modern and traditional. And … cheap? That is what Hannah Kirshner found to her surprise. We are talking about buying property. The young American writer and food stylist has two properties in Yamanaka, a little hot spring town in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Kirshner always had been interested in Japanese culture. In 2015, through her connection, she got an opportunity to have a three-month apprenticeship at a sake bar in Yamanaka. Yamanaka’s foresty nature reminded her of her hometown North Bend, Washington. Also, the close-knit local community made her feel comfortable. In 2018, she moved to the town…

Chase Bank is urging its customers not to commit check fraud. The bank’s plea comes after this weekend a viral trend took over TikTok and X, with users being told that there was a systemwide glitch and that, if they deposited false checks in an ATM and withdrew that money soon afterward, they would be able to cheat the system and take out a large sum of cash before the check bounced. The only problem? This is not a “glitch” — it’s a check fraud scheme and those who participate will be on the hook for all the money they withdrew once the check…

With Labor Day come and gone and the summer lull on Wall Street over, the bears are getting louder just in time for the start of the worst month of the year for stocks. During Tuesday’s market rout, Jim Cramer said, “Buy the dip.” However, before buying in earnest for the Club, Cramer wants to see the overbought market, which has been that way since Aug. 19, abate. It’s going to take a lot more than a decline of 2.1% in the S & P 500 at the start of September trading to swing the Oscillator to oversold. At a…

Elon Musk’s disdain for the Democratic Party was never subtle, but in recent weeks his commentary on the upcoming US presidential election and his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris have intensified, aided by a crude use of burgeoning artificial intelligence technology. On Monday, Musk posted an AI-generated image on his social media platform that depicted Harris as a communist, wearing a red uniform complete with hammer and sickle emblazoned hat. Musk, who has endorsed former President Donald Trump for president and poured millions into a super PAC supporting the Republican, captioned the image with the false assertion, “Kamala vows to be a communist dictator on day one. Can you believe she…

Since the initial SPAC approval, the whole focus of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (NASDAQ:DJT) has been the expiration of the major share lockups from the going public process. The main focus is definitely former President Trump’s shares, amounting to the majority of the company. My investment thesis remains ultra-Bearish on the stock following another weak quarter and the large share lock-up expiration in September. Source: FinvizAnother Dismal Quarter Back in early August, Trump Media released Q2’24 results without providing investors a lot of details. The social media company reported revenue slid below $1 million while expenses jumped, mostly…
