Turkey on Saturday condemned Israel’s expanded operations in Gaza.

“Israel’s blackout, intended to prevent all international communication channels connecting Gaza to the outside world, clearly indicates an intent to commit war crimes,” Fahrettin Altun, Turkey’s communications director and a close ally of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, alleged in a post on X, adding, “this is an attempt to hide the ugly truth of Israeli destruction of civilian lives.”

Erdoğan, who has sharply stepped up his criticism of Israel in recent days, is set to deliver a speech later on Saturday at a major pro-Palestine rally in Istanbul that is expected to draw large crowds.
