U.S. stocks mixed at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.30%

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the gained 0.30%, while the index added 0.10%, and the index declined 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the were Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:), which rose 3.04% or 6.36 points to trade at 215.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Dow Inc (NYSE:) added 2.10% or 1.15 points to end at 55.81 and American Express Company (NYSE:) was up 1.45% or 2.31 points to 161.14 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Apple Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 1.60% or 2.63 points to trade at 162.03 at the close. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 0.96% or 2.42 points to end at 250.90 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was down 0.88% or 0.29 points to 32.52.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 8.22% to 38.04, Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 8.04% to settle at 63.27 and Gap Inc (NYSE:) which gained 6.74% to close at 9.98.

The worst performers were SVB Financial Group (OTC:) which was down 24.12% to 0.61 in late trade, Signature Bank (OTC:) which lost 6.67% to settle at 0.15 and MarketAxess Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 2.21% to 335.70 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were PLx Pharma Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 245.67% to 0.36, GlucoTrack Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 168.91% to settle at 3.20 and Agrify Corp (NASDAQ:) which gained 95.59% to close at 0.28.

The worst performers were Pear Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 50.62% to 0.11 in late trade, Apollomics Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.22% to settle at 8.14 and SHL Telemedicine Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which was down 31.83% to 14.48 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1900 to 1037 and 117 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2126 rose and 1439 declined, while 179 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pear Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 50.62% or 0.11 to 0.11. Shares in GlucoTrack Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 168.91% or 2.01 to 3.20. Shares in Apollomics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 33.22% or 4.05 to 8.14. Shares in SHL Telemedicine Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 31.83% or 6.76 to 14.48.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.97% or 19.70 to $2,006.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.04% or 0.84 to hit $79.86 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.87 to trade at $84.25 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.09, while USD/JPY rose 1.10% to 133.59.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 102.22.
