• Prime Gaming is one of the many perks that comes with a subscription to Amazon Prime.
  • You can download and keep some games and in-game content each month for free as a member.
  • Prime Gaming also allows you to subscribe to a participating Twitch channel for free each month.

Prime Gaming is one of the many benefits that comes with an Amazon Prime membership. In addition to benefits you probably already know like fast and free shipping, Amazon Music, Prime Video, discounts, and more, Amazon includes a subscription to Prime Gaming, which gives you access to free games and a Twitch channel subscription with additional free perks.

What do you get with Prime Gaming?

Prime Gaming might not be the most well-known Prime benefit, but for gamers, it might be the star of the show. Here’s an overview of what you get:

  • Downloadable games. Every month, Amazon releases a new set of games free for download. Once you claim a game, it’s free for you to keep forever.
  • In-game content. There’s also a wealth of free-to-download in-game content. The selection varies, but there’s always something here from popular games and top-tier titles like League of Legends, Roblox, Battlefield 2042, and more.
  • Twitch subscriptions. Every month you have the option to subscribe to a partner or affiliate Twitch channel. The subscription comes with subscription perks like chat privileges, emoticons, and badges.

Are Amazon and Prime Gaming different?

Unless you’re talking about Amazon Game Studio — Amazon’s game development company — Amazon gaming is a shorthand some people use to refer to Prime Gaming. To avoid confusion, you might want to call it Prime Gaming, though, so it’s clear you’re talking about Amazon’s reward program for Prime members that lets you download and keep free games.

Is Amazon gaming free for Prime users?

There’s a lot of free gaming for Prime users. Your Amazon Prime subscription gives you Prime Gaming which includes a rotating selection of free games you can download and keep forever each month. The games come from a variety of publishers and distributors, such as GOG, Epic Games, and even Amazon games.

Amazon sometimes includes games from its own game studio in Prime Gaming, but not all Amazon Games Studio games are included in Prime Gaming.

How much is Amazon gaming per month?

Amazon gaming — more formally known as Prime Gaming — is included in the subscription cost of Amazon Prime. That means you get all the benefits of Prime Gaming for $139 per year or $14.99 per month. There are also discounted Prime membership programs. Students enrolled in two- or four-year colleges can get Prime Student for $69, for example, and Prime Access offers Prime membership to qualifying government assistance recipients for $6.99 per month.

Is Roblox on Prime Gaming?

Free games come and go on Prime Gaming, with a rotating array of titles available to download at any particular moment. That said, Roblox is free to play, so the game itself isn’t on Prime Gaming, since you can get it for free.

Even so, there’s often free in-content content for Roblox available on Prime Gaming to download and keep.

What Twitch benefits come with Prime Gaming?

In addition to the game downloads, Prime Gaming lets you subscribe to one Twitch channel each month for free. If available, you’ll see a checkbox to Use Prime Sub on the channel’s subscription tab. The subscription doesn’t auto-renew each month, so you’ll need to re-enable that perk every month, or use your Prime Sub option on a different channel. The subscription includes other perks like chat privileges, emoticons, and badges as well.

Other Prime Gaming benefits

Because Prime Gaming is included with an Amazon Prime membership, it’s hard to argue with its value. You get free and expedited shipping, eligibility for a Prime Visa card that gives 5% back on all Amazon purchases, music and video streaming, and a slew of other benefits. And Prime Gaming is yet another benefit that comes with all that, for the regular subscription price of $139 per year or $14.99 per month.
